HUDOOKU helps you find people discussing topics that may be of interest to you. Simply type in the topic what you are looking for, and Hudooku will find other people, Q&A, and discussions on the topic. For an exact match, simply use quotations (" ") around your search string. If you don't find a discussion, simply leave a question or a comment, it will be replied to by someone who is interested in what you are.
2.How is Hudooku different from a regular search engine?
Unlike the regular search engines, Hudooku strives at providing the user with processed first-hand information by connecting users to other users sharing similar interests and also allows users to directly interact through Chat, Questions and also by participating in discussions on a particular topic.
3.Does the Dooku bookmarklet work with all browsers? I don't see my bookmarks bar?
Yes, but the Dooku experience is best with Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE version 9, browsers. If your bookmarks bar is not showing, go to bookmark settings and select "Show Bookmarks Bar".
4.How do I login to Hudooku account?
If you have already registered (if not, please do register using the "Register" button) with Hudooku, you can login to the Hudooku platform from the Dooku button or the portal page by clicking on the "Login" button on the top right corner and entering the registered email ID and password. OR you can use the Facebook single sign-on facility available and login to the Hudooku portal or the Dooku button using the Facebook credentials.
Also, you do not have to login all the time in to the portal. Check the "Keep me signed in" box to ensure that the login session is maintained as long as the user manually logs out from the portal.
5.What can I search for in Hudooku?
You can search for any topic that interests you. Hudooku helps you connect with other registered users who might be interested in the same topic and lets you interact with them. If you do not find people, question or a discussion for the topic searched for, you can be the first person to post a question or leave a discussion comment so that other users interested in the topic can discover the same and make the connection happen.
6.When I search for a topic, I do not find the results for the topic, what do I do?
Every registered user can contribute to the content base of Hudooku. You can be the first person to leave a question or start a discussion on the particular topic which will entice other users to participate in the same. Also, you can try to enhance your search string by adding a ("") around it to get an exact match done.
7.Can I filter search results?
You can filter the results to see content specific to the topic searched, or to see all the content available within the portal or to just view content created by you as an individual user. Hudooku will be releasing more filters in its coming releases to enhance your experience and to make it easier for you to find relevant details faster.
8.Will my complete browsing history be stored within Dooku bookmarklet?
NO, Dooku only stores the key topics searched or picked up by the Dooku button against the logged in user. Dooku does not track browsing history or pattern of the user in anyways.
9.Will my browser response/speed reduce due to the installation of bookmarklet?
NO, the speed/response of your browser will not be affected in anyways.
10.Why do I need to Register/login to participate in and or post on discussions and questions?
In order to enhance your experience of finding other users interested in the same topics as yours, we need to map your topics to your profile so that you can be matched automatically through the system. Also, Hudooku automatically sends our updates and notifications to users if there is any change in state of a question or a discussion for which having the user identity becomes paramount. Hence, it is required by the user to login to the Hudooku platform for them to participate in the functions within.
11.Is there a difference in usage is I use my Facebook credentials to login than registering within Hudooku?
NO, there is no difference in the way the portal operates.
12.How do I improve results for the key words matching?
User can improve the results of the key words matching by adding a "" (Double quotes) around the string to ensure exact data match, eliminating other fringe results.
13.Can I delete a discussion thread or a question posted?
YES, you can delete the discussion thread or a question posted by you once you are logged in to the Dooku button or the portal.
14.What does the follow people, follow discussion and follow question feature enable?
Following a person enables the user to get regular updates about any activity done by that user within the Dooku button or the portal, be it user adding a new question or discussion or participating on any question or discussion. Following questions or discussions enables the user to get regular updates within the Dooku button or the portal about any change or addition within the particular question or discussion.
15.How often do I get an update on the content I follow?
The system sends out an update every time there is a change that has happened within the entity followed. It only pushes the delta updates and not the entire history.
16.How do I let others know about Hudooku?
If you are logged in through your Facebook ID in to Hudooku portal or the Dooku button, the "Invite Friends" option gets enabled. You can use this option to send out invites to your friends and others who you think will find Hudooku interesting or you will be able to contribute to a particular topic within Hudooku. Also, you can share a particular question or a discussion across multiple networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to let your friends and other users in those networks know about the content within Hudooku.
17.What user generated data does Hudooku store?
Data generated by the logged in user alone is stored within Hudooku. These data include the different topics searched for, the questions and discussions created and also the questions and discussions participated in. Hudooku does not store the user chat sessions as of now.
18.How do I send a message?
To send a message to another logged in user, click on the chat button available near the user mini profile. This opens up the chat window at the bottom through which the required message can be typed and sent across.
19.Who can I message? How do I start chatting with another user?
Once you are logged in, you can message any other logged in user within the Hudooku platform once they are discovered.
20.Can I chat with more than one user at a point in time?
Yes, if you are logged in, the system supports more than one parallel chats to happen.
21.How do I close or minimize the chat window?
You can minimize the chat window by clicking on the minimize bar available in each chat window.
22.How do I use emoticons on chat
You can click on the emoticons icon available in each of the chat window to select the required emoticon to send across through the chat.
23.What can I do if chat is not working consistently for me?
If for some reason, the chat experience is not consistent, Hudooku advises that the chat session be terminated and restarted again. If termination of the chat session doesnt help, then it is advised to logout and log back in to the Hudooku portal to enable smooth chat experience.
24.How do I report inappropriate or abusive things on Hudooku? (ex: Pornography, hate speech, threats)
Please send across an email to Support@hudooku.com with the inappropriate content added to the mail for the Hudooku team to review and take necessary action.
25.How do I report harassment or abuse on Hudooku?
Please send across an email to Support@hudooku.com with the details of the user harassing you. The Hudooku team will immediately take necessary action on the complaint as seen fit.
26.How do I report a fake account on Hudooku?
